Sean Bumstead is a local boy who moved to the big city and we haven't seen him for about 20 years.  As a young rocker in the 80's, Sean took guitar lessons at our store. We get a steady flow of people building or custom painting guitars, so when Sean strolled into our store during the Christmas holidays of '07 and wanted to show us his Bumstead guitars we thought "yeah right".  But this guy has the real deal. 

              From the humorous peg head inlays to the innovative pickups and controls, these guitars are nothing but cool.  You have to try out the onboard distortion control with 4 different setting and a true bypass.  Bumstead guitars are an international production effort with the bodies, necks, fretwork, and finish all done in Germany.  The most important part of a guitar is the basic structure.  The German craftsmanship and finish work exceeds many US built instruments costing several times as much.  Next, these guitars move to China for electronics installation.  Finally these guitars end up in the US under Sean's careful scrutiny.  This is not a mass produced instrument.  Sean only brings about 30 at a time so quality control is excellent.  So come on down to Quinn's Music and try out one of these awesome guitars.

This is one of the most versatile distortion guitar effects available today and it’s mounted right inside both the Bumstead Cordoba and Monaro!  Imagine having an active boost and three incremental overdrive tones available at your fingertips. Just plug your Bumstead into an amp and rock-out!

The Bumstead Overdrive Circuit (BOC) runs on a single 9 volt battery and its entire distortion range can be fine tuned via an internal trim-pot. A great option for those who want to “tweak” their guitar's sound.

The BOC is equipped with a 5-way rotary switch. Position one is passive off. It removes the circuit from the guitar’s output signal. Position two is “Active” mode designed to maintain the guitar’s tone with a low impedance, which is great for driving a string of foot pedals with NO SIGNAL LOSS. Position three - five incrementally increases the overdrive tone of the guitars output while maintaining the tonal range of the guitar.

The Cordoba and Monaro also include a 6-way pickup selection switch. The combination of the BOC and 6-way expand the capabilities of the guitar putting the guitarist in center stage!
