This is a 1990 Martin J40 Jumbo Acoustic. This guitar is the loudest guitar in the shop, and it plays like a dream! This guitar is generally clean for its age. It has had a repair done by Andy of Galloup Guitars. The seam of the top had a very slight separation that was glued and clamped back together. The heel of the headstock reacted (Minor) with a guitar stand while hanging on a wall. Both sides have dark spots on the headstock, but it doesn't go though the finish. The neck still feels great!
The back is relatively clean with minor surface marks. There is a ding in between the pickguard and the soundhole from being played. There is some laquer that has lifted off of the binding on the back. There is minimal fret wear on the first four frets on the treble strings.
This is the loudest guitar in our shop-by miles. The Indian Rosewood back and sides and solid Spruce top give this guitar the famous Martin sound. The mahogany neck with ebony fretboard feels excellent! This guitar resonates for years when you strum a chord, and is one of the best guitars to ever be in the shop.
